In the wake of their son’s killing by a tiger after he entered its enclosure at a wildlife park, the parents of William Chapman understandably urged social media users to stop sharing disturbing videos.
Calling for privacy through a police-issued statement, they said “the publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time.
“The family are utterly devastated by their loss and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened.”
In reporting the call, the BBC noted that: “Footage of the incident has been widely shared on social media, including on Tuesday evening by US President Donald Trump.”
Which is something of an understatement. For the leader of the free world had paid tribute in his own uniquely offensive way by posting an AI video on his Truth Social platform of himself first fighting with a tiger, overpowering it and then, being the world’s greatest peacemaker, eventually making friends and engaging in a cuddle. The whole 23-second thing is soundtracked by the Tokens’ 1961 hit The Lion Sleeps Tonight. The video does not feature a lion.

Trump had originally reposted the original 41-second video of footage from Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster over the weekend, captioning the video: “Don’t ever mess with nature!”. It was also shared by the White House’s Rapid Response 47 account on X.
But this apparently wasn’t enough for the increasingly demented man in the White House, leading to his latest AI slop posting on Truth Social. Might it finally be the time to invoke the 25th amendment?
